A Story: Erin’s First Time Meditating
My first experience with meditation was sitting next to my mom.
She was a spirited therapist—opinionated, wise, and never afraid to be herself. At times, I’ll admit, I was embarrassed by how unique she was. But now? I’m so grateful.
She didn’t teach me in a formal way. She just invited me to sit with her. I remember watching her be completely at ease—eyes closed, breathing, still. I didn’t know exactly what we were doing, but I knew it was something special.
Breathwork came later, through yoga, through life, and through paying attention. I didn’t learn it in a training. I learned it by doing it—first for myself, then with clients. And the feedback kept coming: “This is what’s changed me.”
Now, it’s my turn to share it.
This weekly breath and meditation group is simple. It’s not about being perfect or having the right playlist or sitting a certain way. It’s about creating space to pause, breathe, and come home to yourself, like I did with my mother as a girl, decades ago.
